Influence1
and Community Engagement: Engaging the community is essential
for the success of any school/program, but it is imperative for
the progression of the collective community. Around the nation,
efforts to improve the quality of education and schools have failed
simply because organizational leaders did not consult or maintain
an active communication with the larger community. Often a hard-driving
leader forges ahead without building engaged relationships among
those directly impacted by comprehensive changestudents, parents,
teachers and other community stakeholders. Influence1 does not believe
this is an effective approach to change.
Influence1
believes that an effective implementation of community change requires
an actively charged and well-sustained dialogue among all stakeholders.
To this means, for any form of education to be successful, the community
must be the priority.
Influence1s
goals are to ensure that community stakeholders are the priority
in educational progression. Through components/subsidiaries that
include Parent Involvement and Opportunity Programs, Community Service-Learning
Projects, Community Development Centers, and Technology Enhancement
Programs and Seminars, Influence1 achieves its goals while ensuring
a collaborative understanding is sustained within the community.
